Final Rites for James Cespiva Slated Saturday

Funeral services for James Milton Cespiva, 51, of 517 McCain, Monroe, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Osborn Funeral Home Chapel in Shreveport with the Rev. Hugh C. Busby, pastor of St. John’s Christian Church in Monroe officiating.

Burial with full military honors will be in Greenwood Cemetery under direction of Osborn Funeral Home.

Mr. Cespiva died Thursday at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Shreveport following a brief illness.

He was a member of the St. John’s Christian Church of Monroe, a veteran of World War II, and the Korean conflict. He was a graduate of Bolton High School Alexandria, and attended Northeast Louisiana State College School of Pharmacy. He was a member of the Masonic Order and was employed by the Louisiana State Employment Service.

A former resident of Alexandria, he was a native of Ottowa [sic], Ohio and was a retired chief petty officer with the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Geraldine Browne Cespiva, Monroe; one daughter, Miss Andrea Eileen Cespiva, Monroe; two brothers, Richard Cespiva, Alexandria and Robert Cespiva, Pineville; three sisters, Mrs. Cade Marrow, Monterey, Calif., Mrs. Ann Tauber, Pineville, and Mrs. Frances Normand, Dalas, Tex.

Pallbearers will be Roscoe Van Anda, Steve M. Gibson, Ryder Gore, Jake Ussery, Ronnie E. Rodriguez, Lenard R. Moore, Charlie P. Hamilton and Odie Smith.
