He enlisted in the Army on June 19, 1944 at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. He was noted as being employed as a cranemen and also as Single, with dependents.

Wilson died in the "Line Of Duty" when his B-17 crashed 6 miles southeast of Sebring, Florida during the war.

Ten Airmen were lost on this training flight.
