Charles was a graduate of New Palestine High School, and served in the Air Force during World War II. He was a member of Murat Shrine, Cumberland Masonic Lodge, and St. John United Church of Christ. Services were held July 3, 2010 at Hendryx Mortuary, Indianapolis with burial in Washington Park East Cemetery. He was preceded in death by parents, Charles F. and Caroline Spier Kottlowski; son, Ron Duane Kottlowski; sister, Gertrude Fisher; sister, Mildred Dost; brothers, Walter and Erwin Kottlowski. Survivors include wife, LaVerne Wessling Kottlowski; brother, Don Kottlowski (Helen); grandson, Ron Kottlowski (Rhonda); granddaughter, Mindy Benge; one great-grandchild and two great-great-grandchildren.
