Mrs. Banks was born May 8, 1928, in Buncombe County. She was formerly employed with Burlington Industries, Cheney Bigelow, and the Grove Park Inn. She attended Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Banks was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Hester Camby Mason, and her sister, Katherine Mason Anders
Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Bill Banks; daughter, Betty Israel ; son, Charles R. Israel ; stepchildren, Billy Allen Banks ., and Janet Lynn Bilandzija ; two granddaughters, three great grandchildren, and six step grandchildren.
