Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011, at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Leeman Prejean, 74, who passed away peacefully on Friday, March 25, 2011 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott.

Reverend Gilbert Dutel, Pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Pat Melancon, organist and soloist, will sing "J'rai la voir un jour", "Just A Closer Walk With Thee", "Taste and See" and "The Lord's Prayer" for the services.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 23 years, Betty Broussard Prejean of Lafayette; one daughter, Dean Granger of Lafayette; one son, Ronald Prejean and his wife Cindy of Lafayette; two step-daughters, Sandra Menard and her husband Glen of Lafayette and Gwen Miller and her husband Troy of Lafayette; five grandchildren; and one sister, Bernice Faul of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Laura Mouton Prejean; one son, Kenneth James Prejean; parents, David and Anatalie Roger Prejean; one sister, Bertha P. Bourgeois; and one brother, Elgie Prejean.

A native of Carencro and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life, Leeman Prejean retired from the Lafayette Parish School Board after thirty-two years of service as a custodian. He had a passion for music and was an active musician for thirty-nine years with "Leeman Prejean and the Happy Playboys" of Scott. He loved entertaining and being with family and friends. Mr. Prejean will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Prejean, Jason Prejean, Glen Menard, Shawn Menard, Cody Prejean and Blake Granger.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Darrell Prejean, Troy Miller, Dwayne Bourgeois, Glenn Bourgeois and Lester Faul.

Martin & Castille-downtown-330 St. Landry St., Lafayette, Louisiana was in charge of services.
