Mrs. Hazel Murphy Burns, 28, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Murphy, died at the family home in Main street at 1:45 Saturday, afternoon, after an illness of four years,
death resulting from a complication
of diseases. Mrs. Burns was born in
the town of Champion, coming to
Copenhagen with her parents when
four years old and had since resided
here. She was a graduate of the
Copenhagen high school, the Carthage
high school and of the Central City
Business college, Syracuse. Following
her graduation she taught school
near Albany for a year. She was a
member of Grace Episcopal church
here. In June, 1924, she was married
to Robert J. Burns, who survives, together with her parents and several
other relatives. Funeral services were
held at the home in Main street at 2
Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Frederick C.
Ransier, rector of Grace Episcopal
church, officiating. The body will be
placed in the vault, awaiting interment
in Riverside cemetery, this villlage in
the spring.
