Margaret Gail Williams, 72, died Friday March 25, 2011 at her residence in Abilene. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday March 27, 2011 at Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born March 10, 1939 in Rotan, Gail was a daughter of the late James D. and Lela (Adams) Peel. Gail married Dave Williams on July 3, 1958 in Fisher County. The ceremony was conducted by Judge W.C. Davidson, Dave's grandfather. Gail was an organist for the First United Methodist Church of Rotan of which she was a member for over fifty years. Gail was a homemaker raising her daughters, Patti and Cindy and helped Dave with farming and ranching in Fisher County. Gail and Dave moved to Abilene in 1994 and worked for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for ten years in Abilene where they retired. Gail is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.
Gail is survived by her husband Dave Williams of Abilene; two daughters and one son-in-law, Patti and Monte Morrow and Cindy Williams all of Rotan; four grandchildren, Staci Holliman and her husband Steven of Academy, TX, Rode Morrow and his wife Shanna of Lubbock, Morgan Morrow of Lubbock and Shawna Gomez and her husband Adam of Rotan; three great-grandchildren, Cody, Madison, and Lily Gomez of Rotan; one brother, George Peel of Weatherford.
