Ardmore — In loving memory of Jackson Riggs Pierce, also known as Frank G. Pierce, beloved father, grandfather and brother.
Funeral services for former Ardmore resident, Jackson Riggs Pierce, 57, of Granbury, Texas, will be held on Monday, March 28, 2011, 2 p.m., at the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel with Rev. Roy Fountain officiating. Interment will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Oakland, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-7 p.m. at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home, Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Jackson was born October 14, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Forrest Eugene and Rita Joy (Riggs) Pierce. He died on March 24, 2011, in Fort Worth, Texas.
A graduate of Dickson High School in 1972, he served in the U.S. Army and later was in the Army National Guard in Ardmore, Okla.
Jackson, a published artist, had moved to the Granbury area where he was working on distributing his artwork in the community. He was an amazing artist and loved the time he could spend with a brush in his hand.
He as also incorporating his genius into a custom home in the area. For the past 30 years he worked as a building engineer in the Fort Worth, Texas, area. "If it was broke, he could fix it."
Jackson is survived by his two daughters, Kitty Joy Beverly and husband, Jeff of San Diego, California, and Sarah Pierce-Irby and husband, Brance of Athens, Texas; grandchildren, Nathan Cason, Lindsey Cason and Brooklyn Irby, all of Athens, Texas; mother, Rita Pierce of Dickson, Oklahoma; sisters, Gayle Teas and husband, Danny of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Jackie Davis and husband, Frankie of Dickson, Oklahoma; brothers, Buster Pierce and wife, Beth of Denver, Colorado, and Forrest Pierce, Jr. and wife, Susan of Healdton, Oklahoma.
Jackson was preceded in death by his father; and a sister, Garnett Roberts.
Casket bearers will be Brance Irby, Hawk Rouse, Wolf Rouse, Nathan Cason, Buster Pierce and Forrest Pierce.
Honorary casket bearers will be Elmer Powell, Carl Buchanan, Jeff Beverly and Lindsey Cason.
