Ralph A. Taylor came to Cushing, OK to work for Cities Service Refinery in 1921. Transferred to Ponca City, OK in 1928 when the plant in Cushing was closed, due to the depression. He was transferred to Lake Charles, LA in 1942 to a new refinery producing aviation fuel for WWII. The new refinery built the town of Maplewood, LA for employees. After retirement in 1957, he was sent to Hamilton, Ontario Canada for a short time to start up a new Cities Service refinery.
