Roger D. Moore, age 63, of Red Oak, Iowa, passed away Friday, November 26, 2010 at the Creighton University Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Roger Dean Moore was born December 20, 1946 in Dalonghea, Iowa the son of George and Frances (Dyke) Moore. He graduated from the Hedrick, Iowa High School and served in the United States Army for three years. He then attended college in Warrensburg, Missouri for three years. He was united in marriage to Karen Thoren on December 7, 1979 in Red Oak, Iowa. Over the years Roger was an electrician and then worked for ROMECH until the year it closed. Roger enjoyed music, stock car racing, and fishing. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his mother-in-law: Arveta Thoren. Survivors include his wife: Karen Moore of Red Oak, Iowa; children: Heather LaFollette and husband Mike of Red Oak, Iowa and Tim Moore of Red Oak, Iowa; grandchildren: Corey and Cody LaFollette of Red Oak, Iowa; brother: George Moore and wife Mary of Copperas Cove, Texas; father-in-law: Lavon Thoren of Red Oak, Iowa; brother-in-law: Gary Thoren and wife Kym of Red Oak, Iowa; nephews and niece: Clifton Miller and wife Jasmin of Phoenix, Arizona; Mykel Thoren of Red Oak, Iowa; Bryton Thoren of Stanton, Iowa; Kelsey Thoren of Red Oak, Iowa; and Rebel Thoren of Red Oak, Iowa; and many other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held 2 PM Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Pilecki officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 7-8 PM Monday, November 29, 2010 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
