Death Takes Sam B. Cross

Funeral services for Sam B. Cross, 70, who passed away Wednesday evening at Baugh's Infirmary where he had been a patient for the past two weeks, will be held in Brown's chapel Friday at three p.m. with Dr. R.M. Howell officiating. Interment will follow in city cemetery, Brown directing.

Mr. Cross, a valued employee of the American Telephone and Telegraph Co. for over 32 years, had been retired from active service since 1935. A prominent resident of this city, he held a most enviable business record among his many associates.

Surviving are the wife; two daughters, Mrs. C.M. Dobbins of Birmingham and Mrs. R.W. Elms of Decatur; five sisters; two brothers; three grandsons and one granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Lamar Maxwell, H.E. Walker, Harold Carter, J.O. Pate, J.L. Appling and Sidney Johnson.

SAMUEL B. CROSS, 70, of 217 11th Avenue west, Decatur, died March 28, 1945, at Baugh's Hospital. He was born September 13, 1874, in Cumberland City, Tenn.

He was married to Ady May Cross. His parents were J.B. Cross, born in NC, and Elizabeth Claxton, born in Virginia.

Burial was in Decatur Cemetery, Brown directing.
