He was born in North Dakota to Roland and Clara (Kinney) Patterson Sr. He graduated from Oakland High School in Oakland, Calif., in 1943 and later from the University of Washington.
Mr. Patterson served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945. He went on to work as a dry cleaner, owning Westlake Cleaners in Seattle for more than 20 years.
In 1951, he and his wife, Shirley, were married in Seattle. She preceded him in death in 2000.
He enjoyed square dancing.
Pat PattersonSurvivors include a son, Steve Patterson of Chicago; a brother, Gary Wiley and his wife, Toni, of Sequim; and a sister, Joyce Miller and her husband, Allen, of Hansville. In addition to his wife, Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by a son, Mark, in 1984.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Faith Lutheran Church in Kingston. Inurnment will be in Seattle under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove Memorial Park of Poulsbo.
