Funeral Rites Held Friday Morning for Andrew Anderson

Funeral rites were conducted on Friday morning of last week for Andrew I. Anderson who passed away suddenly on Tuesday evening, August 17th following a heart attack.

The Requiem Mass was held from St. Gregory Catholic Church in North Branch with Father J.B. Garvey officiating. Interment was in the St. Gregory Catholic Cemetery in North Branch. Pallbearers were Robert Peterson [nephew], Milton Peterson, Albert J. Kunzer, Matt Kunzer, Albert Nelson, and August Peltier.

Andrew I. Anderson, one of the older residents of the Stacy community was en route to the home of his son Roland Peterson, when the sudden heart attack took his life. He had been in poor health for several years and had suffered from several heart attacks previously. His death occurred on his 75th birthday.

Andrew Anderson was born in Skona, Sweden, on August 17, 1873. He came to North America in 1901, settling first in Canada. In 1902 he came to the U.S. after spending a year in North Dakota before coming to the Stacy community where for forty years he engaged in farming.

He was married to Sophia Byers. His wife passed away in 1944. Since the death of Mrs. Anderson, he has made his home at the home of his brother-in-law Theodore Byers of Stacy.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his son Loren of Canton, Ohio, his foster children Roland Peterson of North Branch, and Mrs. Clyde Carver of St. Paul; a brother and sister: Johannes Lindskoog and Mrs. Nils Paulson in Sweden; a brother Louis Bjork of Bayport, and a sister, Mrs. John Hawkinson of Chisago City.
