Arthur Achterhoff, 80, Chandler, died Monday, December 7.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 10, at the Chandler Reformed Church, with Rev. Bruce Wilterdink officating. Mushic was provided by Naomi Wilterdink, organist and Len Huletein, Soloist.
Pallbearers were Jim Achterhoff, Daryl Scholten, Jerald Schoolmeester, Marvin Veldkamp and Rolland Van Nieuwenhuyzen.
Burial as in the Chandler memorial Cemetery, Chandler.
Arthur J. Achterhoff was born on September 4, 1912, to Jacob and Grace Achterhoff. He married Mildred Buysman on August 19, 1938. He attended country school in Pipestone County and farmed in the Edgerton, Lake Wilson, Chandler area. He retired and moved to chandler in 979. He had been a resident of the Edgebrook Rest Center for the past two years. He was a member of he ASC committee, served as County Assessor in Moulton Township and as deacon in both the Woodstock and Chandler Reformed Churches,
Survivors include his wife, Mildred; a daughter, Mrs. Arlyss (Doug) Pool, Apple Valley; a son Duane, Chandler, a daughter-in-law, Betty Achterhoff, Sioux Falls, South Dakota; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary; a brother and two sisters.
