Simón Quijada (Quixada) y Piñuelas was the infant son of soldado Vicente Quijada (1754, Alamos) and his second wife, María Antonia Josefa Piñuelas y Alcaraz. Simón was born at Santa Bárbara where he was baptized later that same day in the Presidio Chapel (BP Baptism 00192). He died at Santa Bárbara and was buried in the Presidio Chapel cemetery on November 7, 1799 ("Cementerio del Real Presidio" BP Death 00064).
Note: Simón's mother, María Antonia Josefa, was the daughter of soldado Francisco Piñuelas and María Alcaraz. Since she was the adopted daughter of soldado Antonio Féliz Villavicencio (also: Villa) and María de los Santos Serafina Flórez, María Antonia sometimes appears in the records with the surname "Villavicencio (or Villa) y Flores."
