He was born Feb. 29, 1944, in Indianapolis. Jack was a 1962 graduate of Markleville High School and played on the Dally Hunter-led Arabian squad from 1959 to 1962. He retired from Delco Remy.
He loved mushroom hunting, spending time with his buddies, Indiana University and Boston Celtics basketball, the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Franklin Stinson; and mother, Barbara Maxima (Kerosene) Stinson.
He is survived by his wife, June L. Stinson; and her daughter, Sunny Randolph; his dog, Ben; his best friend of 60 years, Gary Pate; son, John Michael Stinson; and numerous boys and girls whom he had the pleasure and privilege to coach.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, Anderson, with the Rev. Ned Clark officiating. Burial will be in McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
