"Mrs. Ralph Reynolds Dies In Farm Home Fire Saturday," The Lodi (Wisconsin) Enterprise, 17 March 1960, page 1, column 5.

Mrs. Ralph Reynolds, 69, rural Lodi, died in a fire of undetermined origin last Saturday morning in her farm home 1 mile west of Lodi.

The Lodi fire department received the call at 10:30 Saturday morning. Upon arriving on the scene of the fire they were informed that two people were still in the house. The house was already completely engulfed in flames and much time was spent in trying to locate the occupants. It was later learned that only Mrs. Reynolds was in the house, but by the time the firemen could locate her and get into the house she had been overcome by smoke and flames.

The Dane and Arlington fire departments were called almost immediately but with the time it took to find Mrs. Reynolds and bring her out of the house the fire had too great of a start and the home was a complete loss.

Firemen fought the fire for 2 1/2 hours before it was extinguished.

Mrs. Reynolds was a lifelong resident of the Lodi area and a former school teacher. She was born on November 28, 1890. She taught school in the Town of West Point several years prior to her marriage to Ralph Reynolds on December 22, 1911.

A talented pianist, Mrs. Reynolds is well remembered as a member of a duet team, which pleased and delighted many audiences, with their piano duets. She is also well remembered as accompanist for many of the vocal groups in Lodi in former years.

Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. John Porter and Mrs. John Paynter, Madison; five sons, Joseph, Lodi; Howard, Independence; Hugh, Rochelle, Ill.; Elvin, Columbus; and Roy, Madison. One brother, Joseph Bartholomew, Lodi; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 15 from the Hamre Funeral Home with Rev. P. A. Wahl of the First Lutheran Church officiating. Blanche Menes, organist, and Mrs. Ed Saager, soloist, provided the music. Pallbearers were Dr. T. O. Goeres, Albert Steckelberg, Bill Groves, David Stevenson, Robert O'Brien and Lawrence Spilde.

Interment was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
