Funeral Services Held Monday for C.L. Upton
Funeral services for C.L. Upton, 70, were held at 10:00 A.m. Monday in Beech Springs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Loy E. Baird officiating. Burial was in the Beech Springs cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home.
Mr. Upton died Friday afternoon at his home in Jonesboro after a lengthy illness. He was a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church, a retired farmer, and a veteran of World War One.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Evie Upton, 6 daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Sanders, and Mrs. Evelyn Freeman, Jonesboro, Mrs. Effie Katherine Futrell, Quitman, Mrs. Helen Graham of Brownsburg, Indiana; Miss Edith Upton of Shreveport and Mrs. Muriel Kramer of Anchorage, Alaska; one brother, J.D. Upton of Delhi; six sisters, Mrs. Roma Nelson, Mrs. Ruby Dyer of Monroe; Mrs. Ellie Warren of El Dorado, Arkansas; Mrs. Ruth Harville of New Orleans; Mrs. Mary McNair of Sicily Island; Mrs. Sara Yates, Delhi; 17 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Marion J. Futrell, Bobby R. Freeman, Gerard E. Graham, Max E. Goodrum, Eddie Duck, and Aubrey L. Futrell.
