Funeral Services For Henry J. Seggerman To Be Held Friday

Minonk-
Henry J. Seggerman, 78, of this city, died early Tuesday morning of infirmities of age, at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Dr. and Mrs. A. W. Kettelhut with whom he made his home the past thirteen years.

Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Dr. Kettelhut home, conducted by Rev. W. Ross Thornton and burial will follow in the Minonk cemetery.

Henry Jasper Seggerman was one of nine children born to Jasper and Rikta Luederman Seggerman (s/b Rixte Ludemann Seggerman). His birth occurred on October 16, 1864, on a farm south of Benson. At the age of ten years the family moved to a farm four miles southeast of Minonk where he grew to manhood.

Mr. Seggerman was twice married. In 1888 he was united in marriage to Sadie Jenkinson to whom two children were born. A daughter, Florence, died in infancy and a son, Everett Seggerman, lives in this city. Her death occurred in 1893 and in 1894 he was married to Cassie Bremer. To this union five children were born: Mrs. Florence Jaeger (s/b Joerger), and Herman Seggerman of Pekin; Reuben Seggerman of La Rose; Mrs. Rachel Kettelhut of Minonk and Mrs. Edna Lousignont (s/b Louisig-Nont) of Peoria. Their mother is also deceased. There are also surviving 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and the following sisters and brothers: Albert Seggerman and Mrs. Lena Harms of Minonk; Richard Seggerman of Chicago; Mrs. Margaret Huntling of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Sena Jenkinson of South Shore, S. Dak. Two sisters, Mrs. Agatha Johnson of Pontiac, Mrs. Anna Eilts, of Minonk, and a brother, John Seggerman, are deceased.

Mr. Seggerman was a farmer by occupation until he retired in 1922. He was affiliated with the Seventh Day Adventist church, and politically with the republican party.
