MONTPELIER - LaVay Alleman Dimick, 93, passed away at the Bear Lake Skilled Nursing Facility on Wednesday, February 13, 2008. She was born March 16, 1914, in Bern, Idaho, to Abraham and Elizabeth Buhler Alleman. She
grew up in Nounan on the family ranch, the fourth of six children, Delilah Rose, Lee Abraham, Lester Groo, LaVay, Royal George and Ruth.
LaVay married Virgil L. Dimick October 1, 1934, and they were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple.
They were the parents of two sons, DeWayne R. (Sue) Dimick of Liberty, Idaho, and Virgil Dean Dimick (deceased) of Idaho Falls, Idaho. She is the grandmother of Michael Dean Dimick of Idaho Falls, Nicole Anne (Greg) Nelson of Florida, Steven DeWayne (Cherie) Dimick of Preston, Idaho, Larry Gene (Christine) Dimick of Soda Springs, Idaho and Dale Dimick (deceased); also the step-grandmother of Jymme Sue (Ron) Manchester of Montpelier, Idaho, Jon Russell Negus of Spring Creek, Nevada and Jill Ann Sorenson of Grace, Idaho; and one sister, Ruth, of California. She also has 21 great-grandchildren and three greatgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, three brothers, her son, Dean, and grandson, Dale.
Mom was the matriarch of our family and her children and grandchildren were the most important part of her life. She was very proud of each and every one of them, and loved to hear the latest news about them. Her favorite holiday was St. Patrick's Day when we celebrated her birthday with corned beef and cabbage.
She has many wonderful friends that have been so kind to her, and she loved them all. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Bear Lake Memorial Skilled Nursing home for their loving and tender care.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Montpelier Fifth Ward LDS Chapel, 340 N. Fifth St., where friends may visit with family from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. The interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery, with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
