Evening Times, Cumberland, Maryland, Sun 10 Dec 1954:
"CHEVERLY. Md.-Rev. Ronald J. Fannon, 49, a native of Mt. Savage, died
yesterday in his sleep at the rectory of St. Ambrose Catholic Church of
which he was pastor. Father Fannon had gone to his room to rest and
sometime later he was called but did not respond. Death was attributed
to natural causes and he had not complained of being ill. He was a son
of the late Michael and the late Bertha (Farrell) Fannon. He attended
St. Patrick's School, Mt. Savage, and studied for the priesthood at St.
Charles College and St. Mary's Seminary, Baltimore, from where he went
to North American College, Rome, to complete his theological studies.
After his ordination in Rome in 1932, he returned to the United States
and celebrated his first solemn high mass at St. Patrick's Catholic
Church in Mt. Savage. Father Fannon was then appointed assistant pastor
at The Shrine of the Sacred Heart, Washington, where he remained until
his appointment as pastor of St. Ambrose Church, Cheverly. A nephew of
the late Msgr. John Fannon he is survived by his stepmother, Mrs.
Nellie (Malloy) Fannon, Mt. Savage; a brother Edgar J. Fannon,
Washington; two sisters, Mrs. John Crowe and Mrs. Walter J. Martin,
both of Mt. Savage, and two cousins Rev. Thomas Fannon, Baltimore and
Rev. Robert Fannon, Youngstown. Ohio. A solemn high mass will be
celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose after which the body
will be taken to St. Patrick's Church, Mt. Savage. Another solemn high
mass will be held there Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St.
Patrick's Cemetery."

"MT. SAVAGE-A solemn requiem high mass for Rev. Ronald Fannon, native
of Mt. Savage, who died Thursday in Cheverly where he was pastor of St.
Ambrose Catholic Church, was held this morning in St. Patrick's Church
here. Rev. Thomas Fannon, cousin of the deceased and assistant pastor
of St. Vincent's Church, Baltimore, as celebrant. Assisting were Rev.
Robert Fannon, also a cousin, of it. Nicholas Church at Struthers,
Ohio, deacon, and Rev. George Ellis, assistant pastor of St. Ambrose
church, sub-deacon."
