Caroline Elizabeth Bonneau Brodnax was the daughter of William Henry Bonneau and his wife, Anna Maria Swinton. She was born in Charleston, South Carolina on 28 August 1824. She became the second wife of Thomas Whitaker Brodnax on 23 April, 1846 in Lowndes County, Alabama. Thomas Whitaker Brodnax was born 16 July 1818 in Putnam County,Georgia and died 16 July 1874 in Sabine County, Texas. He was the son of Robert Brodnax and his first wife, Olive Taylor Whitaker. Caroline died in Batesville, Zavala County, Texas on 5 January 1912.
