Ruth Margaret Babin Moran
A resident of Gonzales, she was called home Tuesday, March 22, 2011. She was 88 and a loving and caring homemaker. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Thursday, March 24, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. Mark Catholic Church, Gonzales, on Friday, March 25, from 9:30 a.m. until celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Entombment in Hope Haven Mausoleum, La. 30, Gonzales. She is survived by a daughter, five sons, three sons-in-law and four daughters-in-law, Peggy and Jimmy Womack, Perry and Arlene Moran, Mark Moran, Glenn and Pattie Moran, Jody and Penny Moran, Ted and Tracie Moran, Allard Bourgeois and Barney Gautreau; four sisters, Gertie Moran, Leona Bourgeois, Rosemary Daigle and Cecilia Savoy; 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Alex J. Moran; parents, Valentine and Cecile Babin; daughters, Margie Bourgeois and Maggie Gautreau; and grandchild, Melissa Moran. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Gautreau, Mike Gautreau, Casey Moran, Josh Moran, Dexter Bourgeois and Scott Bourgeois. Honorary pallbearer is Tim Gautreau. She was a member of the St. Mark Ladies Altar Society and donated several hours assisting in the gift shop. She enjoyed working in her yard and had a passion for flowers and plants.
