Henrietta Thomas Morris, 93, a native of Liberty, passed away March 22, 2011, at North Kansas City Hospital. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by a service celebrating her life at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 26, at the Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at 291 Highway, Liberty. Burial will follow in Glenridge Cemetery. Henrietta was born Jan. 14, 1918, near Liberty, MO, the daughter of Gilbert and Lela Bell (Archer) Thomas. She attended Ruth Ewing School, Liberty High School and Warrensburg State Teachers' College. She later taught at Nebo School, a one-room schoolhouse in the Nebo community. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur A. "Bud" Morris, Jr.; son, Arthur A. "Buddy" Morris, III; granddaughter, Becky Morris; and brother, Frank Thomas. Henrietta was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Liberty. She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking, especially her fudge, and for her beautiful roses. Henrietta was a proud and caring mother and grandmother of four generations. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Bob Russell of Warrensburg, MO; grandchildren, Sandy McCrackin, Stacy Seaba, Jennifer Morris, Arthur "Buddy" Morris IV, Robert Russell, Randy Russell and Beth Neuhoff; 10 great grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; and daughter-in-law, Carol Morris.
