Dr. N. R. Drummond Passes In El Paso
Will Be Buried In Columbia Today

Final rites for Dr. N. R. Drummond, associate editorial secretary of the Baptist Sunday School board, Nashville, will be held from the Baptist Church in Columbia this afternoon. Dr. Drummond, 64, died early Tuesday morning at El Paso, Texas, while en route to Phoenix, Ariz., to fill an engagement. A heart attack claimed his life.
Dr. Drummond is a native Mississippian, his first home being in Lawrence County. Before entering the ministry he was a school teacher and business man in t he state, being superintendent of the Columbia School once and president of a wholesale grocery there also.
From this state he went to Fort Worth, Texas, to become a member of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary's faculty. Later he was assistant pastor of the First Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, and from that point he went to the Sunday School board seven years ago.
Dr. Drummond is survived by four sisters in Mississippi, Mrs. Zach Carter, Jackson, Mrs. Ina Bell Griffin, Terry, Mrs. Walter Huachins and Mrs. Mae Izard, both of New Hebron.
