"Miss Daisy" as she was known to her many friends, came to Columbia with her parents and six sisters as a young woman. In addition she taught in the Sunday School and assisted in establishing the record system still in use in the church today. She also taught in the public schools of Columbia.
After leaving Columbia she served for a number of years with the International Sunday School Board in Georgia and North Carolina, and teaching in a girls' training school in North Carolina. Before going to Jackson to reside three years ago she lived in Water Valley.
The remains were brought here Sunday morning for the final services and interment.
Survivors are Mrs. Bessie Magee Smith of Jackson, Mrs. M. W. Gabbert of Senatobia, Mrs. C. R. Bolton of Tupelo, Mrs. W. L. Elkin of Water Valley, and Mrs. L. H. Conner of Rome, Italy; and several nieces and nephews.
