A Member of the Holyoke faculty for 40 years, Miss Branch retired in 1958, a graduate of Smith College in 1914, she received a MA degree from Wellesley in 1918. Except for three years as an instructor at Vassar College, she taught continuously at Mount Holyoke.
Her major field of interest was English composition. She taught several summers at the Bread Loaf English, established by Middlebury College at Middlebury, Vermont.
She wrote a volume of critical analysis, " The Training of Literary Judgement," and many Poems and articles for periodicals. She was a member of the Modern Language Association and American Association of University Professors.
