Alice Lavine Hobday, age 89, of Berkeley Springs, WV, died on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at The Berkeley Springs Center, LLC.
Born April 28, 1927 in Morgan County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Jerry Franklin and Grace Fox Householder.
She was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church in Berkeley Springs. Alice attended schools in Morgan County. She worked at Little Miss Canning Company, Interwoven Mills, Coolfont Resort and in recent years she was a homemaker. Alice enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning fruits & vegetables, camping, yodeling and spending time with her grandchildren.
Alice is survived by her children, Regina Jo McCoy, Vanessa Rae Ashcraft and husband Shawn, Maryalice Lou Hobday all of Berkeley Springs, eight grandchildren, Renee L. McCoy, Jesse McCoy, Amber McCoy, Donnie E. Stotler, Nicole C. Hobday, Miranda Hobday, Josh Shambaugh, Bradley Shambaugh, eight great grandchildren, Summer McCoy, Krisha McCoy, Phillip Ray McCoy, Scarlet Stotler, Ryker Stotler, William Gibbs, Diontae` Hobday, Keihara Willis, one great great grandchild, Connor McCoy, two sisters, Anna Michael, and Dorothy Beeler, all of Berkeley Springs, one brother, Walter Householder, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ward Lester Hobday, Jr., one son Adam O’Brian Hobday, two sisters, Nettie Michael and Frances Taylor, three brothers, Homer Householder, Raymond Householder and Freddie Householder.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11: 00 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, WV with Pastor Jack W. Hiles, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Greenway Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
