Shelby D. Jackson, 73, Neosho, MO, died at 5:25 p.m., Sun., Apr. 23, 2006 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born Jan. 12, 1933, in St. Joseph, MO, to Robert and Nora Ellen (Newgent) Jackson.
Mr. Jackson lived most of his life in the Neosho area. He retired from the Army National Guard, having served in the 203rd Engineering Battalion as a heavy equipment operator.
He was manager of numerous movie theaters and served on the board of directors of the Neosho Regional Recycling Center. He was a member of the Neosho United Methodist Church.
Shelby is survived by his first wife, Donna (Marble) Jackson, the Mother of his three children, and his second wife, Judith A. Jackson. His daughter, Jan Dulaney and her husband, Tim Dulaney, Meridian Idaho; Lee Ann Clark and husband, Shawn, Webb City, MO; Scott Neese, Neosho, MO; Steven Neese and wife, Chrissy, Wentzville, MO and Chris Neese, Neosho, MO; brothers, Lindy Jackson, Neosho, MO, George T. Jackson, San Diego, CA and Logan Jackson, Ark.; sisters, Darlene Wright, Joplin, MO and Mary Ellen Patton, Lee's Summit, MO; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; and mother-in-law, Violet Anderson, Springfield, MO
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thurs., April 27, 2006 at Neosho United Methodist Church with Rev. Gene Cole officiating. Melvin Kruse will give eulogy. Burial will follow at IOOF Cemetery, Neosho. Pallbearers will be David Rackowitz, Rex Rackowitz, Tim Dulaney, Bob Anderson, Shawn Clark and Chris Neese.
