Lethele M. Heward
Mrs. Lethele M. Heward, 87, formerly of 1211 Jackson Boulevard, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday in the Canterbury Manor nursing home where she had lived for six years.
Mrs. Heward was born July 17, 1892 in Mexico, Ind., to Charles and Carrie Kline McGuire. She had lived in this area most of her life, moving here from Chesterton where her husband owned a drug store. She was married to W. Perry Clements in 1911. In 1958 she married Joseph E. Heward, who died in 1968. She was a retired licensed practical nurse at Woodlawn Hospital.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Mary) Hutchens, Rochester; a grandson, David W. Alspach, Rochester; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lewis Myers, Lebanon, and Mrs. W. T. Smith, Peru; a brother, Fred McGuire, Mexico, Ind.; three half-sisters, Mrs. Fred Carpenter, Mexico, Ind.; Mrs. Betty Landis, Peru, and Mrs. Peggy Bolinger, Tatlorsville, Ill., and a half-brother, William McGuire, Mexico, Ind.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home, Rochester with the Rev. Sam Carlton officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. today.
