Mr. Diewald served in the United States Navy during World War Two. He was a retired carpenter and a past president of the Carpenters' Local Union 1426 in Elyria, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda, in September, 1975.

Memorial services were held in the Hungarian Reformed United Church of Christ, 31st Street and Globe Avenue, Lorain, Ohio. The Reverend Zoltan Szucs officiated. Burial was in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria, Ohio. Memorial contributions could be made to the American Heart Association.
