Ivan was the youngest of nine children born to Zotique Oliver Fugere and Delia Dubois. Ivan served as a Machinist Mate 2nd class in the US Navy in WWII. Ivan married Virginia Forkner on June 2, 1946 in Rapid City, Pennington Co., South Dakota.
