Born in Przerosl, Podlaskie, Poland in 1863. Parents: Ferdinand Jewko and Karolina Hanin or Galina. Name was changed from the original spelling of Jewko to Yefko (sometime after arriving in the US). Jewko would be pronounced as "YEVKO." He immigrated to the US from Poland about 1889. Married Michaline Gross 16 January 1881 in Suwalki, Podlaskie, Poland. Died of Appendicitis at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania 6 June 1907. Children: Mary (1882-1945), Michael (1884-1961), Radoslawa (1888-1892), Frank J. (1893-1951), Helen (1894-1954) & Joseph (1895-1919). Radoslawa was born and died in Poland. The youngest 3 children (Frank, Helen, and Joseph) were born in Nanticoke, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.Jacob came to the USA in 1892 he resided in Nanticoke he died from appendicitis at age 48
