Horace Ward, a well known resident of this place, died at his home in High street tuesday night, February 20th, after a long illness. About three weeks ago Mr. Ward suffered a stroke of paralysis which hastened his death. He was born in North Adams, Mass., in 1832. His father died when he was only six months old. Mr. Ward has made it his home in this village for the past 57 years where he was well and favorable known. Besides his wife he is survived by four sons, E. S. Ward of San Bardino, California; H. A. Ward of Armstrong, Iowa; B. P. Ward of Watertown; J. J. Ward of this village and by two daughters, Mrs. A. A. Reynolds of Parker, S. D., and Mrs. Fred Green of this village. The funeral was held from his late home Friday, February 23d, at 2 p. m. Rev. C. A. Riley officiating. Burial was made in Riverside cemetery.
