After her father, John, died while felling a tree, just before her 10th birthday, Sarah's mother took her children, still at home, and moved to Portage Co. OH.
On 9 Dec 1838, she married Edward Shipley Nevers,s/o Lewis and Lois (Wright) Nevers and a copper plate engraver from Cincinnati in Portage Co. They shortly thereafter moved to Cincinnati, OH, where they had three children:
Laura Melissa b. 11 Mar 1840
King Griswold b. 23 Oct 1841
Marietta Sophia b. 21 Sept 1843
In her old age, she went to live with her oldest daughter about 1870, Melissa Brittain, whose family lived in Perry Co. IL and then Marion Co. IL (before 1900), where she died at the age of 84 in 1901.
Sarah's ancestry traces back to the Plymouth pilgrims and also to the royals of Europe.
