Musician. She was a concert violinist, best remembered as the long time companion for a half a century to literary poet Ezra Pound. She was a performing prominent concert violinist when she met Ezra Pound in Paris, France, in 1916. Through their common interest of music, they resurrected the music of Antonio Vivaldi, discovering scores of his violin and orchestra concertos in a Turin library, launching a revival of his works in the 1930's. Rudge stood by Pound through his indictment on charges of treason for broadcasting concert violinist, Fascist propaganda from Italy during World War II. She also was with him through the dozen years when he was held in the St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Washington and until his death at age 87. She died of natural causes at age 101.
