JAMES HALLECK REID DIES

The death was announced last night of James Halleck Reid, author of over 200 successful stage plays. Among the best-known works of Mr. Reid are "Human Hearts' and "The Confession". He was 56 years old.

HAL REID, PLAY WRITER, DEAD
Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning for James Hallock Reid, author of over 200 successful stage plays, who died at his home, 1405 Boulevard East, West New York, Saturday. Among the best known works of Mr. Reid are "Human Hearts" and the "Confession". He was 57 years old. He was familiarly known as "Hal" Reid.
Death was caused by chronic bronchitis, an ailment with which the writer had been afflicted for about three years, although alarming symptoms did not develop until about a week ago.
The deceased leaves his wife, Marcella F. Russell: one daughter and two sons. Mrs. Hazel Negbauer of Palisade, Wallace Reid, the motion picture star of Hollywood Cal., and James Hallock Jr., who lives with his mother. A sister, Mrs. Thomas Levering of Minneapolis, Minn. also survives.
Mr. Reid was born in Indiana, April 14, 1863.
Internment will be made at the Highlands.
