Martha Davis Andersen, 90, a Weslaco resident for 69 years, passed away March 19, 2011 in Weslaco. Mrs. Andersen was a RGV journalist and lifelong ham radio operator (W5SBN). She was a nationally recognized and award-winning teacher at WISD and traveled extensively as an Educational Consultant for Region One.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W.O. 'Andy' Andersen on January 18, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Kay Ross and her husband, Mario of Weslaco; daughter, Patricia Naiser of Kyle, Texas; granddaughter, Dr. Jennifer Naiser of North Richland Hills; grandson, Michael Armijo of Round Rock; great granddaughters, Claire and Maddie Smith of North Richland Hills; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 10:00am at John Knox Village Chapel in Weslaco with interment of ashes to follow at 2:00pm at Weslaco City Cemetery.
