RITES HELD FOR C. HARSHBERGER
Former Thornton Man Dies in West
Clear Lake--Funeral services for Charles Andrew Harshberger, 71, who died Tuesday at Torrington, Wyo., were held Thursday afternoon at Ward's funeral home. The Rev. Warner M. Hubbard, pastor of the Methodist church, conducted the rites and burial was in Thornton cemetery.
A niece, Mrs. L.E. Jacobson, accompanied by Mrs. Harry Mason sang "Jesus, Saviour, Pilot Me" and "Asleep in Jesus." Relatives were pallbearers.
Mr. Harshberger was born at LaMars, Pa., Dec 16, 1873, son of John and Elizabeth Harshberger. At the age of 18 he came to Kaneville, Il., where he was married Dec. 23, 1900 to Miss Elna M. Wells.
They came to Iowa in 1901 and, in 1912, moved to Wyoming to take up a homestead.
Besides his wife, Mr. Harshberger is survived by 3 children, Wells, of Torrington; Mrs. Lester Armstrong (Adeline), Hawk Springs, Wyo., and Cpl. Clarence Harshberger, now in Germany; a brother, Edward Harshberger, Minot, N. Dak.; a sister, Mrs. Mary Ulrich, Paton, and several grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Relatives attending the rites were Mrs. Harshberger, Mrs. Ulrich and her daughters, Mmes. Ona Bollinger and Swan Carlson, and the latter's daughter, Dorothy, Paton, and Dr. and Mrs. R.E. Ulrich, and family, Garner.
