Dwight E. Arnold was born in Canton, Ohio on June 29, 1925, the son of Hallie Fern Clarke and Wade Wilbert Arnold.

On March 14, 1944, he enlisted in the Army at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana.

After the war, he married Alida Strikwerda. Alida was born August 1, 1919 in Groningen, Netherlands, the daughter of Age Klass Strikwerda and Pietronella ‘Nellie' Doris.

In the 1960's, they lived in Dallas, Texas where both of their sons were born.

Alida died on February 5, 2011 in Slidell, Saint Tammany Parish, Louisiana.

They were the parents of John Christopher Arnold and the late Mark David Arnold.

Mildred Brady Venitucci wrote: Dwight Arnold and his wife, Alida called `Lee', and their two sons Johnny and Mark, lived in San Tome, Venezuela, for approximately ten years. Dwight worked for Mene Grande (GULF) Oil Company. Being a gifted musician, he was the organist for the San Tome Union Church for 8 years. Lee spent her time with the children, oil painting, playing Bridge and golfing. They were wonderful friends. They later lived in Slidell, Louisiana.
