The LaGrange Indicator December 22, 1893
LARUE At her home near Lewistown, Missouri, Thursday evening, December 14, 1893, Margaret Katherine Stevens LaRue died.
Sister LaRue bas born in Lewis County, December 19, 1842. She was the daughter of Charles H and Lucinda Williams Stevens, now of LaGrange Missouri. At the age of nineteen years, she was happily converted, and united with the Baptist church of which she has been a constant member ever since. On November the first, 1899, she was united in marriage to William T LaRue whom she leaves with five children to mourn her loss, four sons and one daughter. On Saturday, December 16th, her funeral was preached by the writer from Job 7:21, to a large audience of sympathizing friends and her remains were laid away in the cemetery. Thus ended one of the saddest days that ever dawned upon this now heartbroken home. As a wife she was kind, considerate, and indeed a helpmate. As a mother, she was ever mindful of her children's good, never losing an opportunity to talk to them of Jesus' love, and entreating them to accept of his grace and meet her in heaven. And while we all are led to say,
"Dearest mother, thou hast left us,
A voice we love so well is stilled
a place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled."
