Sally Ann Murphy Evans went to be with the Lord on May 16, 2004. Sally will rejoice in being with her daughter, Cathy Evans Sherman, and her husband, Larry Evans, whom she has missed so very much. Funeral services for Mrs. Evans, 71, of Conroe will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 12:30 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. Charles Downey officiating. Interment will follow in Bryan City Cemetery. Pallbearers: Will Evans, Justin Evans, Scott Buchanan, Bobby Murphy, Mike Murphy, and Tommy Gage. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 18, 2004 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.

Mrs. Evans was born on April 13, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas. She was a member and registrar of the Robert Woodson Chapter of the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century, charter member and registrar of the John Barker Esq. Chapter of the Daughters of the American Colonist, member and registrar of the Thomas Bay Chapter of the United States Daughters of 1812 and a member of the Margaret Montgomery Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Thomas Jefferson Stubbs Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Azalea Garden Club. She was a teller at First National Bank in the late 1950's and 1960's. She enjoyed photography and was the family historian and genealogist, and she published a pictorial book ...And the way of it was... about the history of Montgomery County.

Sally is survived by her sons, Larry (Bubba) Evans Jr. and wife Claudette, and Eddy Evans and wife Gina of Conroe; grandchildren, Will Evans and wife Kara, Justin Evans, Colette Buchanan and husband Scott, and Jill Sherman, all of Conroe; great grandchildren, Andrew Evans, Courtney Evans, Makenna Evans, Caleigh Buchanan, Kayleigh Evans, and Kelsey Evans, all of Conroe; brothers, Frank Murphy and wife Nita, Jimmie Murphy and wife Jo Ann, all of Bryan, and Kermit Finley of Waco, and Edward Finley and wife Janie of Houston; sister-in-law, Madalleen and husband Jimmie Weedon of Bryan. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.

Sally will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and the many organizations to which she contributed so much of her time.Sally's name is indicated as "Sallie" on her Texas Birth Index and in the 1940 Census. Other places she is indicated as "Sally".
