David Bickley served with the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division which made the Inchon-Seoul invasion. He had been a Marine since February of 1948.


He was killed in combat on Nov 4th. Shortly after receiving orders sending him to the front lines in Wonson.


David was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Naitonal Defense Service Medal.


David Bickley is survived by his mother, Mrs W.R. Bickley, and nine brothers, Charles Bickley, Jimmy Bickley, and Bob Bickley of Dallas, Tx., W R Bickley Jr, of Athens, TN., Douglas Bickley of Farmersville Tx., Haywood Bickley of Twin Falls, ID., Joe Bickley of Denver, Co., Henry Bickley with the Navy at Alameda, CA and Rankin Bickley, with the Air Force at Tampa, Fl., eight sisters, Miss Ella Bickley, Mrs Milton Cole and Mrs Hollis Goodman, all of Dallas; Mrs H L Monroe of Longview; Mrs Henry Warren of Tulsa; Mrs Henry Foster of Sallisaw, OK and Mrs Henry Jenkins of Memphis. Tn. and Mrs Virgil Ailes.
