JUDGE WEATHERSBY DIES
Judge A. E. Weathersby died at his home in Columbia, Friday, night last and was buried in that city Sunday afternoon.
The esteem in which Judge Weathersby was held was attested by the large concourse of people who attended his funeral and the various expressions of sympathy conveyed to his family, following his death.
For quite a number of months Judge Weathersby had been in failing health. The constant interest in his condition was widespread. He had reached the age of 60 years and by his generous, genial nature had endeared himself to a wide circle of friends. In Lamar County, Weathersby had many friends – as was shown by the support given him here, even when in his last campaign for the office of circuit judge to succeed himself, it was quite generally believed that his failing health would make it impossible for him to serve out his term.
A number of Purvis people attended the funeral and but for weather conditions a great many more would have gone over to Columbia to pay their respects to their departed friend.
It is reported that the attendance of members of the bar and other friends from remote parts of the state were present at Judge Weathersby's funeral.
