MARGUERITE BENNAFIELD CARTER, 92, died on Sunday, December 6, 2008 in Gainesville, Florida.
Mrs. Carter was born June 1, 1916 to Henry C. Bennafield and Lillie Mizell Prevatt. She married Norvelle Raymond Carter on July 15, 1940. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Hawthorne, and the Eastern Star. Mrs. Carter worked for Belks Department Store, First National Bank, V.A. Hospital Cantine, and Walmart.
Mrs. Carter was predeceased by her husband Norvelle in 1976. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, Ruth (RG) Palmer, Joan (RJ) Hogan, Sandra (Fred) Newberry, Fran McNeill, James (Judy) Sims, Joyce Sims Hanstein, Henry Bennafield, Winnie Kirkland, Patricia Bennafield, and Jessie Jacobs.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008 at 11:00 A.M., at Milam Funeral Home Chapel 311 S. Main St., The family will receive friends from 10:00 until service time.
