Mary Ellen Bracewell

Margaret Ellen Bracewell, daughter of George and Maria Sharr was born in Clio, Iowa, Feb. 2, 1872 and passed away Dec. 23, 1952 at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 21 days. Her entire life has been spent in Wayne county, Iowa.

She was married to John H. Bracewell March 4, 1891 and they at once started housekeeping at their farm home west of Allerton, where she has lived continually for 63 years.

To this union were born four children. Pearl H. Bracewell, Allerton; Mrs. Nell Prettyman, Lynwood, Calif., Mrs. Eva Robertson, Allerton and Leo G. Bracewell, Pasadena, Calif.

There are five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, also one living sister Mrs. Esther Gardner of Clio, and four brothers, Sherm and John Sharr of Clio; Miner Sharr of Centerville and Joseph Sharr of Garden Grove. Mr. Bracewell preceded her in death on August 23, 1933.

She was a member of the New Zion church. In her community she was the soul of honor and her kindness and beautiful Christian character she exemplified each day of her life.

Funeral services were held at the Randolph funeral home in Allteron at 2:.. p.m. Sautrday, December 27. The Rev D. M. Crawford officiating.

Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Don Duncan with Mrs. D.M. Crawford as pianist.

Pallbearers were: George Riley, Jay Greenlee, Fred Lohr, Zell Garratt, Herman Woods and Will Robertson.

Flower attendants were: Mrs. Gail Richardson and Mrs. Carl Sapp. Burial was in the Corydon cemetery.
