Funeral service for Lucille Ball, age 86, of Hartselle, will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Son Rise Baptist in Hartselle with Brother Brian Bridges and Brother Joe Nuss officiating. The body will lie in state until an hour prior to service.
Burial will at Bethel Cemetery in Morgan County. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ball was born Sunday, August 16, 1931 in Morgan County, to the late Henry Virgil Vest and Mary Magdalene Thomas Vest. She was preceded by her husband, Stanley Ball and siblings, Edith Wallace, James Vest, Dallon Vest, Franklin Vest, Grady Vest, Jerry Vest and Janny Chaney.
Survivors include six sons, Charles Dwight Ball, (Sheron) Joe Ball, (Martha) Jim Ball, Donald Ball, (Karol) Rickie Ball and Randal Ball (Kathy); a daughter, Rebecca Garrison (Dexter); two sisters, Reba Taylor and Judy Holland (Dan); 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Jason Ball, Adam Ball, Matt Ball, Justin Blelew, Grayson Ball, Austin Ball and an honorary pallbearer will be Brandon Ball.
