Carolyn Ruth Thomas, 71, of Edinburg, passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born on August 14, 1939 in Buckhart Township, the daughter of Lawrence Christopher and Iva Rhea Grant Requarth. She married Larry Thomas on December 31, 1961.
She worked for Landmark Ford for over 20 years and was the assistant to the President before retiring. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was an organist and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Edinburg Lioness Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Evelyn Amelia Bursch; two brothers, Lawrence Grant Requarth and Eldon Eugene Requarth.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Thomas of Edinburg; one daughter, Stephanie McCarty of Rochester; one son, Brent (Ronda) Thomas of Morrisonville; four sisters, Marian Freeman, Doris Rath, Emma (Raymond) Thomas, and Margaret (Greg) Moody; two brothers, Charles (Donna) Requarth, and David (Margaret) Requarth; four grandchildren, Justin McCarty, Jacob, Joshua and Jared Thomas and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 205 N. Campbell St., Edinburg, IL with Reverend Gaylord Spilker officiating. Burial will follow in Edinburg cemetery.
