He was born on Dec. 23, 1914 in Walworth, Wisconsin to Joseph and Nellie Carlton Binstock. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Howard.
He married Helen Kelley on Dec. 27, 1950 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She survives. Also surviving are two children, Joe (Sherrie) Binstock of Chillicothe and Mary (Mark) Martin of St. Peters, Mo.; three granddaughters, Leah (Nick) Coleman of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Rebecca (Patrick) Wilson of St. Louis, Mo. and Rachel Martin of St. Peters, Mo.; a great-grandson, Jack Coleman; a sister, Ruth Dial of Paris, Texas and several nieces and nephews.
He served in U.S. the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of the 305th Bomb Group. He retired as a lieutenant colonel from the Illinois Air National Guard.
