He and his family appear in Arkansas on the 1850 census, Ouachita County. They also on census of 1860, 1870, 1880, all in Arkansas. He was appointed US Postmaster in Nevada County, AR. on 26 July 1889.


Family history, as told to me by my great grandfather, and John Wesley Moores Jr., says he went to Mexico and was killed by persons unknown, bad hombres.
